VideoMerger – Privacy Policy

VideoMerger is an iOS app and Photos share extension for merging up to 20 videos into one file. We designed it to run entirely on your device without collecting personal data.

Data We Handle

User-selected videos (on device only)

• Videos you pick are processed locally with AVFoundation; they are never uploaded to our servers because we do not operate any backend for this app.
• The merged file is written to your Photos library if you approve access.
• A temporary export file is created in iOS temporary storage during the merge and is deleted automatically after a successful save; if a merge fails or is cancelled, the temp file remains locally until iOS cleans it up.
• If iCloud Photos is enabled, your resulting video may sync through Apple's iCloud service under Apple's terms.

Purchases (optional tips)

• The tip jar uses Apple StoreKit. Apple processes payment details; we receive only the product ID, transaction status, and Apple-provided transaction identifiers needed to confirm the purchase.
• We do not receive card numbers, names, or billing addresses.

Diagnostics

• The app contains no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs.
• We do not send any logs off-device. If you choose to share iOS crash/diagnostic data with developers through Apple, Apple may forward anonymized crash reports to us.

Support communications

• If you email us (e.g., support@amsoftware.dev or privacy@amsoftware.dev), we receive the information you include in the message and use it only to respond.

Permissions We Request

• Photos (Add Only): Needed to save the merged video back to your library. The app and share extension do not read your library beyond the items you share into it.

What We Don’t Do

• No user accounts or sign-in.
• No cloud upload or external processing of your videos.
• No ads, tracking, or profiling.
• No cookies.

Data Retention

• Temporary export files exist only during processing and are removed after a successful save; iOS may clear failed/cancelled exports automatically.
• Merged videos remain in your Photos library (and iCloud if enabled) until you delete them.
• Purchase confirmations are maintained by Apple; we do not store them separately.
• Support emails are kept only as long as needed to resolve your request.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not collect personal information. Parents can delete videos in Photos at any time.

Security

All processing is local on your device. We rely on Apple’s platform security, App Store review, and code signing. No data is transmitted to our infrastructure.

Third Parties

• Apple (App Store / StoreKit / iCloud Photos if you enable it).
• Your email provider when you contact us.

Changes

We will update this policy if our data practices change and will revise the effective date above.
